ON THIS DAY - 15th March

In 1969, BILL THOMPSON (#105) became only the second player to make a century and a fifty in the same match. Against TAS, in the last game before the semis, he and BRIAN JOICE (#218) completed a memorable double. Thompson made 106 and a rapid second innings 60 as A grade raced to victory the third outright victory in the last four games of the season. Joice routed the TAS team, with 12-99 (6-54 and 6-45), back in the day when he quick and nasty.
