ON THIS DAY - 16th October

In 1965, D LITTLE (#199) and TOM COOKE (#197) added 136 for the 6th wicket for A grade v Churches. In A-Res grade, DICK CHISOLM (#141) and BRENDAN McGEE (#200) added 240 for the 3rd wicket v Armidale Teachers College. It was, at the time, the highest partnership for any wicket, in any grade but was subsequently passed by two other double century partnerships for the 3rd wicket in A-Res/2nd grade. Chisolm made 139.

Waratahs b Churches - A grade, 16th & 23rd October 1965

In 1976, MICHAEL CONNOLLY (#293) made a breakout innings of 92 not out for B grade v Uralla. It marked the transition from talent schoolboy cricketer to the star he would become.
