Morgan Youell - Manly Warringah

Morgan Youell was a long-serving and highly respected member of Manly Cricket Club, representing the club from 1990-2006 and establishing himself as one of the clubs all time leading wicket takers.

Over his career, he claimed an impressive 417 wickets at an average of 19.71, a remarkable record that reflects both his consistency and his ability to make breakthroughs.

Morgan was a member of the 2004/05 3rd grade premiership winning team, playing a starring role taking 34 wickets post Christmas after coming down from second grade and taking 8/32 in the quarter final. He was also a part of multiple Club Championship winnings seasons, underlining his contribution to the club’s success across and long and distinguished career.

A regular in second grade at his peak, Morgan also captained the team during a particularly strong era for the club fast bowling wise, with state players Heath, Cameron and Bradstreet established as the mainstays of the first-grade attack in this period.

While his batting was never a primary strength of his game, he put a high price on his wicket and had a very respectable highest score of 61*

Morgan’s longevity, competitive spirit and outstanding bowling record cement him as a very important contributor to Manly’s cricketing history.
