North Sydney Bears on the Big Stage
In November, our Bears, Bernadette Robson and Rina Hore, both represented NSW at the National Masters Championships.
Bernie captained the second-division Opals to fourth place overall, narrowly missing the final. The top run-scorer in her division with an average of 103.5, Bernie earned herself a spot as the Division 2 merit team captain at the end of the competition!

The third-division (ages 50+) Waratahs were captained by Rina. In the 2024 competition, this squad won a game for the first time. This year, Rina led them to 4 wins out of 6, finishing 3rd overall! Rina was the top wicket-taker in Division 3, including a 5-wicket haul against the NT, also earning her a spot as captain of the third division Merit team.

Congratulations to both Bernie and Rina on their incredible performances! The tournament will be held in Tasmania next year, and we look forward to seeing what Rina and Bernie will achieve. There is also the possibility of an international Master's tournament being held in Cardiff, Wales, in October 2026. With such success on the national stage, who knows where our Bears might find themselves next season!
