UTS North Sydney 2025-26 Green Shield preview
The Green Shield season kicks off on Tuesday 16 December, with UTS North Sydney taking on Bankstown, UNSW, Campbelltown Camden, Blacktown, St George, Mosman and Western Suburbs over seven rounds straddling the Christmas and new year break. Coached once again by Tim and Hamish Reynolds and looking to avenge a few years of narrowly missing out on finals, the Bear Cubs are well-drilled and ready for action.

We have selected a well-balanced, competitive squad, with a number of players having already had Premier and Shires cricket experience.
The team will be captained for the second successive year by wicketkeeper-bat, Ryan Sood. Ryan is in sparkling form, having scored 50s in his last two Premier Cricket appearances and effected three stumpings last weekend, and looks forward to bringing his experience from last season to bear in his leadership of the side.
Also backing up from last season is Rayyan Kazmi. This Rayyan’s third season of Green Shield and we look forward to him making his mark on the competition as a senior player in the side. Rayyan is a compact left hand bat and talented leg spinner, and has performed strongly with both bat and ball in the Bears’ team playing under the Roseville banner in the Shires competition this season.

We’re excited to welcome 13 new players to the squad, many of whom have already represented the Bears in Premier Cricket. They include Marcus Yagnamurthy, whose Grade debut included a dogged, match-saving innings against Campbelltown Camden in October. Another bright new star is Sachiin Muthukumaran, a seam-bowling all-rounder who has been playing First Grade Shires for our partner club, Roseville. Sachiin has been performing well at this level and we look forward to seeing what he can do in the Green Shield.
We’re also delighted to see the family connection strong with the Bears’s senior squad – Dilshan Singh’s brother Dilraj is starring at the top of the order for Second Grade and PGs, while Aiman Hasan’s dad Rashie is a spin bowler for Fifth and Sixth Grade, and played alongside Aiman a few weeks back
