We take you back to 2015/16 and it’s the last game on North Sydney Oval for the season in Round 6 as the new drop-in wicket is being installed.

In the previous round at NSO vs Easts, Nick Watkins had made 166* in a draw with the Bears needing 11 runs before bad light halted play.

In Round 6 vs Campbelltown-Camden, Watkins then peeled off 202 off 293 balls with 27 fours and 2 sixes for the Bears to set 8d - 383. Unfortunately a strong Campbelltown team passed our score with an over or two remaining with Gibson, Coyte and Gauci in the runs. That Campbelltown team (which finished 5th) was very handy with J Clarke, D Mortimer and T Rogers all in the top 6!

It’s fair to say Watkins, one of the great men of NSW Premier Cricket, enjoyed playing on North Sydney Oval, averaging 368 in 2 digs that season!
